The Centre for Teaching and Learning provides a dedicated helpdesk service to support teaching staff.
The service is available Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm and can be contacted by emailing digital.education@ctl.ox.ac.uk.
The service has been in operation since the beginning of the pandemic, when it became necessary to support University staff with remote teaching. It provides help from experts in several areas, including digital education, educational development, and Canvas (the University’s virtual learning environment), all of whom are available to help departments, faculties and colleges with queries related to in-person, online and hybrid teaching.
The helpdesk team monitors service requests and responds quickly to users. If the team is unable to help, or your issue or question involves the interaction of several services, they work closely with colleagues in other areas, including IT Services and the Libraries, to ensure staff are assisted as quickly and efficiently as possible.
For the year August 2021 to July 2022, the helpdesk team logged and resolved 3,499 requests for help from across all divisions, departments and colleges.
During 2021-22, the team created 263 new Canvas courses and processed and trained 46 new Local Canvas Co-ordinators or Unit Administrators, as well as offered a wide suite of training in Canvas to all staff.
You can find out more about the helpdesk service on the Centre for Teaching and Learning website.
