The Testing Team in IT Services recently launched a new Service Request for getting in touch to book consultancy time. The Service Request is called Test Team Engagement and you’ll find it in the Oxford Service Manager (OSM) - just search for ‘Test’.
We spoke to Nigel Emm who told us more about what the Testing Team is offering.
What is this new service about?
IT staff across the University can now make a request for consultancy on all aspects of IT testing. The team has a wealth of knowledge in this area.
This experienced team can provide advice about specialist testing services. For example Security and Penetration Testing or Performance Assurance. They can also supply resource to test changes to your application or system. For example, a defect may have been identified by an end user in a system, and after fixing the fault, system testing is needed before the fix can be shared for User Acceptance Testing (UAT). In this case, the request would be for a Tester to undertake system testing of the fix.
Who is it for?
This new offering is designed for smaller, non-project engagements of up to three days. It will be of interest to support centres, departments, Software Solutions and other IT support teams.
What are the timescales?
The normal lead time for this service is four to six weeks. It is worth noting that requesting this service is a mechanism for recording the work in the system only. The team will be in touch to discuss requirements and timings.
How are the requests prioritised?
The Testing Team will contact you to discuss details. Requests will be prioritised and scheduled in consultation with the requestor.
Is there a cost for this service?
No, this is a non-chargeable service supplied by the Testing Team.
How do I find out more?
If you have questions about this service or wish to find out more, please email the Testing Team. You can also visit OSM and raise a Test Team Engagement service request.
