Under direction of the Director of Customer Services, with management responsibility for the goals, resources, performance and development of a team including permanent and project staff, you will be the recognised face of the successful podcasting service and other multimedia uses in education.
The University podcasting initiative to provide freely available academic talks, lectures and interviews to the world through Apple's iTunes U software, alongside a parallel web portal, http://podcasts.ox.ac.uk, has high impact and is linked to learning, teaching, dissemination, public affairs and widening access strategies. The University is recognised globally as a centre of expertise in open podcasting and the development of collections of open educational resources (OER) available for re-purpose and re-use both within the UK and worldwide higher education.
You will ensure a high level of customer care and work closely with senior academics to deliver their content to an internal and global audience. You will build new partnerships, develop your functional / specialist area (multimedia services), supervise research staff and deliver on strategic projects for IT Services. You will ensure that Oxford University’s learning technology services are based on research into users’ needs and the latest pedagogical research where relevant.
