There's a small army of IT support professionals at work around Oxford. As well as the central Service Desk here at IT Services, individual colleges and departments have their own local IT Support Staff (ITSS). Building relationships between ITSS and IT Services – sharing knowledge, expertise and information – is crucial to delivering IT services effectively across the collegiate University.
To do this, we have a dedicated team, IT Support Staff Services (ITS3), that provides a central point of coordination for local IT staff. We help IT Support Staff to develop their knowledge, skills and careers through:
ITSS colleagues can find more information and resources on the ITS3 SharePoint hub.
If you work for a University department/faculty or a college in an IT support role, you can become part of the Oxford ITSS community by joining the IT Support Staff Register. Once on the register you will also become a member of the ICT Forum (ICTF), an advisory body representing all IT Support Staff. Please note, if at any time you would like to leave the register, email its3@it.ox.ac.uk confirming that you wish to be removed.
ICT Forum
We work closely with the University's ICT Forum, particularly in administration, support and event management. A nominated member of IT Services sits on the ICTF Steering Committee along with elected IT Support Staff.
